Terms of Use
Last updated: July 4, 2026 · Applies to: CloudSweep (iOS & macOS) v1.0+
1. Acceptance of These Terms
These Terms of Use apply to all users of CloudSweep, published on the Apple App Store by MARS Studio. By downloading and using the app, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agreed to these terms. If you do not agree, do not use the app.
2. License
MARS Studio grants you a personal, non-transferable, non-exclusive, revocable license to use CloudSweep on Apple devices that you own or control, for your personal, non-commercial use, in accordance with these terms and Apple's App Store terms. You may not copy, modify, distribute, sell, lease, reverse-engineer, or attempt to extract the source code of the app, except to the extent permitted by applicable law.
3. Free Tier
CloudSweep's free tier includes unlimited scanning and unlimited duplicate review across all connected sources, plus 10 removals within 14 days of the first removal. Continuing to remove duplicates beyond the free allowance requires a CloudSweep Premium subscription.
4. CloudSweep Premium (Auto-Renewable Subscription)
CloudSweep Premium unlocks unlimited removals. It is an auto-renewable subscription offered at $2.99 USD per month or $19.99 USD per year. Prices shown in the App Store are authoritative and may vary by region.
- Payment is charged to your Apple Account at confirmation of purchase.
- Auto-renewal. The subscription automatically renews at the then-current price unless auto-renewal is cancelled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. Your Apple Account is charged for renewal within 24 hours prior to the end of the current period.
- Managing or cancelling. You can manage your subscription or cancel auto-renewal at any time after purchase in your Apple Account settings (Settings › [Your Name] › Subscriptions). Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current paid period.
- Refunds. All payments are processed by Apple. MARS Studio cannot directly issue refunds; refund requests are subject to Apple's standard refund policy via reportaproblem.apple.com.
Your use of CloudSweep is also governed by Apple's Licensed Application End User License Agreement (Standard EULA): apple.com/legal/internet-services/itunes/dev/stdeula.
5. Your Responsibility for Removals & Backups
CloudSweep is designed to be safe: it moves files to a recoverable trash rather than deleting permanently, always keeps at least one copy of a file, re-verifies files before acting, and, where available, verifies backups by checksum. Nevertheless, you acknowledge that:
- You are responsible for reviewing every removal selection before confirming it.
- You are responsible for maintaining your own backups of important files independently of the app.
- Files moved to trash are typically recoverable for approximately 30 days, but recoverability windows, retention behaviour, and trash mechanics are set by each provider and may change without notice. Once a provider empties its trash, the file is gone.
- For services where the app cannot delete on your behalf (see Section 6), you perform the removal yourself in the provider's own interface, and you are responsible for what you delete there.
6. Third-Party Services
CloudSweep connects to third-party services that you authorize — Google Drive, Google Photos, Microsoft OneDrive, Dropbox — and can scan downloaded Amazon Photos libraries and iCloud Drive content. You acknowledge that:
- Google Drive, Google Photos, Microsoft OneDrive, Dropbox, Amazon Photos, and iCloud are trademarks of their respective owners. CloudSweep is not affiliated with, sponsored by, or endorsed by Google, Microsoft, Dropbox, Amazon, or Apple.
- Your use of each service remains governed by that service's own terms and policies.
- These providers control their APIs. Changes to API availability, permissions, rate limits, or policies may limit, change, or remove CloudSweep features at any time, and MARS Studio is not responsible for such changes.
- Some providers (Google Drive, Google Photos, Amazon Photos) do not permit third-party apps to delete files; for these, CloudSweep guides you to the file and verifies afterwards rather than deleting on your behalf.
7. No Warranty
CloudSweep is provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranty of any kind, express or implied, including but not limited to warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. MARS Studio does not warrant that duplicate detection will identify every duplicate, that visually-similar matching will never produce a false match, that the app will be uninterrupted or error-free, or that any third-party service will remain available.
8. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, MARS Studio, its founders, developers, and affiliates shall not be liable for any loss or damage — including direct, indirect, incidental, consequential, or data-loss damages — arising from your use of or inability to use CloudSweep, including any removal, backup, or hand-off action performed with or through the app. Nothing in these terms excludes liability that cannot be excluded under applicable law.
9. Regional Notice
This app is available globally. Local laws and regulations regarding data storage and consumer software vary by country. It is your responsibility to ensure that use of this app complies with the laws of your jurisdiction.
10. Changes to These Terms
We may update these terms from time to time. Material changes will be reflected in the “Last updated” date above. Continued use of the app after any changes constitutes your acceptance of the updated terms.
